How is Solar Photovoltaic Energy used for electricity production?

-  The process:
It´s use for producing electricity from sun that is the main energy source. Photovoltaic devices are made of semiconductor and when a sun ray hits the photovoltaic cell, the semiconducting materials are use to convert sunlight directly into electricity, so electricity is produce.
 -   When we have the electricity, we used it for
o     Power stations: Is used in agriculture.
o     In buildings: Is used to supply power for the building.
o     In transport: Is used to provide auxiliary power in boats and cars.
o     Standalone devices: Is used for not having to change each year the battery of devices, with the photovoltaic cells, it always has power. It’s used in parking meters, traffic signs and similar devices.
o     Rural electrification: Electricity of the photovoltaic cells is used instead of kerosene bulls, because it’s cheaper and better.
o     Solar roadways: Is used for having more electricity in the country, and it’s install in the roads, because there is a lot of free space whit much solar light.
o     Plug in solar: Is used instead of the normal plug, it produces the same power and you don’t have any problem with the plugs prongs when you touch them.

  1. Good job Lucía and Lara. Solar photovoltaic energy is one of the best alternatives we have to produce the energy we need. As you say, solar panels also produce energy in cloudy days (thanks to the solar diffuse radiation). Maybe in the near future we could cover the roofs of our buildings and houses with efficient solar panels that would provide a big part of the electricity that we need.
